Alexa

Alexa, Pass the Salt explores the nuances of human-machine interactions, focusing on the overlooked social and behavioral implications of voice assistants. Research revealed that devices like Alexa and Siri often encourage command-based, impolite interactions, raising concerns about their long-term influence on human behavior and communication norms.

The project challenges this dynamic by reimagining how voice assistants might foster more thoughtful, polite exchanges. By introducing playful yet intentional scenarios, it examines how design can shift machines from passive tools to active participants in the rituals of human interaction, ultimately fostering empathy and awareness in our daily lives.
